In support of the Commonwealth’s plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, we are taking action to work with local restaurants to divert food waste from our local landfills. Understanding that food waste that ends up in local landfills adds to county, commonwealth, nation, and global greenhouse gas emission levels. We’re raising money to offset the cost to obtain a compost service subscription for local restaurants and businesses that choose to participate in this activity. This is one step we can take to make a difference towards the reduction of greenhouse gases. To be ready to support more local businesses, as an incentive, we’ve set up this campaign with a goal of $30,000.
